Hi, I’m Caleb Pickman, a Chicago-based photographer who thrives on capturing life’s most meaningful moments from weddings to portraits and beyond. My journey behind the lens began when I attended the Hallmark Institute of Photography, where I immersed myself in the art of storytelling through photography. That foundation not only shaped my craft but also sparked my lifelong passion for creating images that resonate.
Family and Life Behind the Lens
My story wouldn’t be complete without mentioning my wife, Alex, and our daughter, Nora. Alex, a speech-language pathologist and entrepreneur, inspires me every day with her drive and compassion. Our daughter, Nora, keeps life wonderfully unpredictable, especially on Mondays, when we create fun hairstyle videos together. These moments of joy and creativity fuel my work and remind me of the importance of preserving memories.

I’ve been fortunate to photograph countless weddings across the U.S., earning a spot as one of the top 10 wedding photographers in the country. My work has been recognized by the prestigious Wedisson Awards, celebrating the artistry of my wedding photography. Each shot is an opportunity to document love, light, and connection in a way that’s timeless yet uniquely yours.
Finding Opportunity in Uncertainty
During the challenges of COVID-19, when weddings and events were shut down, I found myself exploring new avenues. Real estate photography offered a way to keep working without direct interaction with people, making it a perfect fit during those uncertain times. What started as a necessity quickly gained momentum and became a thriving part of my business. Today, I have an incredible team based in Chicago and Kansas City who help capture stunning visuals for real estate clients. Their work allows me to focus on my first love-wedding and portrait photography—while ensuring we provide exceptional service to a growing market.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of sharing my story and work with various media outlets. From appearing on the Whitney Reynolds Show to being featured in Canvas Rebel and VoyageChicago, I’ve had opportunities to reflect on my journey and connect with a broader audience. I’m also proud of my recognition on Wedisson, where my award-winning images have gained international acclaim.
